A PERFECT DAY FOR KANGAROOS
If you are in UK, please pick up a copy of The Times tomorrow (June 24). I was asked to illustrate for exclusive Haruki Murakami short story A Perfect Day for Kangaroos for the Book Review section of the paper. Haruki Murakami, needless to say, is one of Japan’s most respected contemporary writers, and definitely one of my very favorites.

WALRUS SUMMER READING ISSUE IS OUT
In Canada, please pick up a copy The Walrus Magazine summer reading issue. I did the cover (right), which Antonio De Luca of The Walrus and I worked on and off for… well…. two years. Wow. I am happy it is finally out. Thank you Antonio.AND IN THE US OF A
Did a few illustrations for Business Week (June 26 issue) Summer Reading article as well.

ALSO A RECOMMENDED READING from me
How To Be A Graphic Designer Without Loosing Your Soul by Adrian Shaughnessy. If you are in art and design field, read this book. Trust me, you will be glad that you did.

GROUP SHOW IN ALABAMA

Some of the original drawings from my illustration work are on view at Schedler Minchin Fine Art in Alabama now. This show Contour was curated by Jon Coffelt, a good friend of mine and a great artist.

Some new illustartions are: Atlantic Monthly, WIRED, MONEY, DOMINO (all June), The New York Times and PC Magazine (both June 6 issue). Yes, I will update illustration section with new images soon.

ILLUSTRATION SECTION MAKEOVER

I added so many images to “recent illustrations” section over the years it was getting out of control. I did a bit of a makeover. Now you can browse through images by category or by theme. School year has just ended at SVA, so I am planning on working more on my site over this summer.

BE THE FIRST STORE TO CARRY YUKO PRODUCTS!

The first Yuko products are officially out from NookArt of Australia, and I am psyched! They are: a note card, a tri-fold wallet, and a blank journalyou can use as sketch book. I especially love the wallet. Now the products are done, we are looking for stores who want to carry them.If you are a store interested in carrying the products, or have questions, please go to NookArt web site, and e-mail/call them directly. NookArt is for wholesale only, but they can pretty much ship to anywhere in the world.

If you are a store in New York City area, I would be happy to come by to show you the samples before you place an order to NookArt. Please call my studio or e-mail me to set up appointment. I won’t make you disappointed!

Big thank you goes to Andres, Bev, Trent and Nova of NookArt.

Society of Publication Designers‘ SPOTS judging is done. Thank you for everyone who applied. John Cuneo and Edel Rodriguez had such presence and impact, as always, but WOW.
