The first of the two-part annual exhibition will open at The Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators (New York) on January 7th, and will be up till January 30th. The first segment is Advertising, institutional and uncommissioned categories.
I have one piece in this show, in Advertising category. This was a poster image created for Tokyo Night Show, a music festival in Tokyo, Japan.

The Criterion Collection, a continuing series of important classic and contemporary films, has commissioned work from some of the most exciting illustrators and designers working today. Artists David Plunkert, Gregory Manchess, Leanne Shapton, Yuko Shimizu, Adrian Tomineand Ron Wimberly, along with moderator Eric Skillman, will discuss the process of creating new art for great cinema, and celebrate the release of Criterion Designs, a new book featuring features covers, supplemental art and never-before-seen sketches and concept art. Followed by a book signing and reception.

I will be at this year’s School of Visual Arts Senior Week panel discussion titled “Surviving & Thriving in the Freelance World”.
Any of you SVA students and recent alumni can register and come to the event. Those of you who have mixed emotions of excitement and worries over being a freelancer after graduation, please come stop by and ask us questions.
